Popular Nigerian Musician Dammy Krane has revealed that he no longer holds any grudge with Wizkid, adding that the duo are now friends again after a much-publicized burst up between them some time ago.

The duo were very close pals during the early stage of their careers but that ended in 2016 after the duo reportedly exchanged blows in the popular Lagos club, Quilox and since then the two singers have not been seen in public together until this year when they were pictured together.

It was reported then that the fight ensued because Dammy Krane alleged that Wizkid stole the song, Baba Nla, from him after paying him a visit at home.

However, during a chat with The Punch, Dammy Krane revealed how he reconciled with his old pal.

He said, “Wizkid and I went to an event and from there we went out together. It was from there that we became friends again. I have forgiven him because it is just one song and we would still do songs together. We would still do one or two things together but you need to understand that we are all getting to different stages of our lives.”

Speaking on the misunderstanding he had with fellow music artiste, Orezi, because the latter replicated his hairstyle, Krane disclosed that Orezi had apologised to him.

“If you know Dammy Krane very well, you would know that I joke with a lot of things but people tend to take them seriously. I do not think we had any problems; only miscommunication. Orezi has already apologised to me because he understood that it was miscommunication. Everything that happened during that period was miscommunication,” he said.

Krane also said that he still maintains a cordial relationship with his former boss, Tuface, even though he is no longer with his record label.

Krane said, “I have a great relationship with Tuface and I have a learnt a lot from him. He is more like a mentor to me in the industry; I have learnt a lot about humility and hard work from him and he is also a God-fearing person. He taught me how to be a businessman as well.”

Wizkid’s Bouncer Attacked As Nightclub Disconnects Incident To Singer’s Debt

Roy Emmanuel, the bouncer of Ayo ‘Wizkid’ Balogun, narrowly escaped being hacked to death after being involved in an altercation with the MC of Club DNA – a popular nightclub in Lagos.

The incident occurred on Thursday, November 15, but photos of the wounded bodyguard surfaced on the internet at the weekend.

Grapevines have it that the altercation was allegedly caused by Emmanuel’s defence of the superstar singer over an alleged debt owed to the nightclub.

It was gathered that the bouncer was at club DNA when the owners of the club started arguing with him that Wizkid didn’t buy the Lamborghini Urus he, recently, posted via his Instagram story.

It was also learnt that the artiste owed the club millions of Naira for drinks bought on credit, and so, buying such car doesn’t make sense, but Roy defended his boss, saying he will clear his debts once he returns to the country.

Wizkid’s bouncer was subsequently beaten and injured, according to reports making the rounds.

However, the nightclub has dismissed claims that Wizkid’s bodyguard was stabbed because of the debts the singer owes the club.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the management of the nightclub said that the fight was an act of “indiscipline” and not because of the reported debt accrued by Wizkid.

The club stated that “Wizkid’s outstanding bill is a different issue to be addressed separately”.

The statement read: “It has been brought to our notice that news circulating stating Wizkid’s bouncer (Roy) was attacked at CLUB DNA and related to Wizkid’s outstanding bills at the club.

“We would like to make clarification that it was a situation of indiscipline on both side. Roy works at Club dna as the chief bouncer and the accused also work at the same club as an MC. Altercation happened when both staffs were talking to a senior staff and both started an argument and rapidly rose to a fight.

“The matter is now been handled by the Nigerian Police and they are getting to the matter. We would like to clarify that Wizkid’s outstanding bill has nothing to do with this fight.

“It was a situation of two staffs indiscipline act. Wizkid’s outstanding bill is a different issue to be addressed separately and vividly.”

DNA Nightclub Boss, Bouncer In Court For Allegedly Stabbing Wizkid’s Bodyguard

Wizkid’s bodyguard, Roy Emmanuel Obinna, has dragged DNA nightclub boss, Olufemi Olusanya, popularly known as Femi Posh, and a bouncer, David Afari, to court for allegedly stabbing him.

Femi Posh and Afari were on Wednesday arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrates Court, over an incident that left Roy badly injured on November 15.

On that day, was allegedly beaten while he was trying to pay part of Wizkid’s N15million debt to Femi Posh

It was gathered that he had gone to DNA nightclub at 76, Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Victoria Island, to settle the bill that his boss was owing, when he was attacked by the defendants.

According to Vanguard Newspaper, the 38-year-old showbiz entrepreneur and his 29-year-old bouncer are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, unlawful assault and grievous bodily harm, preferred against them by the Police.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Joseph Jimoh, had during the arraignment of the duo, told the court that the defendants unlawfully assaulted the complainant Obinna, by beating him and using broken glass to injure one of his eyes, finger and left side of his face.

According to him, the offences committed are punishable under sections 411, 173 and 245 of the criminal laws of Lagos State 2015.

However, the duo pleaded not guilty to the charges filed against them.

An application was made by the lawyer of the accused, D Mustapher, who said they are making moves to settle Roy’s medicals bills.

The case was adjourned till January 17 after Magistrate O.O. Oshin, who represented Magistrate Y.O. Aro-Lambo, granted the bail application of the defendants.

Olamide Speaks On Having Same Show Date With Wizkid, Tells Fans What To Do

Popular Nigerian hip hop recording artist, Olamide Adedeji, known by his stage name Olamide, has confirmed the news, which had been circulating on social media, about having the same show date with music sensation Wizkid, and also spoke on why it is not going to affect his.

For the first time, the two music heavyweights have decided to hold their December shows on the same day.

While Olamide would be having his annual OLIC 5 on December 23, Wizkid would also have his “Made In Lagos Concert” on the same day.

This has raised concerns and stirred intense dispute among fans of the two musicians as they are left to wonder which one they would have to attend – since they can’t afford to miss any of the two shows.

However, in a chat with The Punch, Olamide said:

“It is true that the two shows will happen on the same day. The population of Nigeria is huge and everyone cannot fill up one event centre.”

The rapper-turned-singer also told fans what to do.

“I believe the sky is big enough for all birds to fly without touching each other. I honestly don’t feel there will be any negative effect. If you switch on your television set, I am sure you have many options; so, it is left for you to decide which station you stay tuned to. That is how I see things,” he said.

“I am not living in his (Wizkid) mind, but I don’t think anyone has an issue with it and I am sure we will both make good money from the shows.”

Olamide used the opportunity if his chat with Sunday Scoop to make it known that he held no grudge against the National Broadcasting Commission for banning some of his songs. He said,

“I don’t think it is possible to please everyone. Even in the Bible, there were people who didn’t like Jesus despite all the wonderful things He did.

“I am not trying to please anyone; I am just trying to make music. If you like my songs, it is okay. If it turns out that you don’t like it, it is cool too. I don’t feel NBC always targets me or my songs; I just feel they (officials) are doing their job.”

Wizkid, Tiwa Savage Team Up With Pharell Williams, David Guetta On First-Ever Global Citizen 4-Track Album

Two Nigerian superstars Wizkid and Tiwa Savage and international stars Pharrell Williams and David Guetta are among the artists contributing new music to Global Citizen EP 1.

The EP is a four-track collection released by the International advocacy organization Global Citizen in partnership with Warner Music Group and Atlantic in the lead-up to the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 that will hold on December 2 in Johannesburg.

The Global Citizen EP 1, available for pre-order on Tuesday and launching on all streaming platforms on Friday, November 30, includes four new tracks featuring Pharrell Williams, Stormzy, Wizkid, and Cassper Nyovest, among many others, and was overseen by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, the curator of Global Citizen’s annual live music festivals.

Throughout the EP, galvanizing messages for change and hope can be heard amid a blend of global sounds. The words of human rights legend Nelson Mandela even appear on the opening track, “Rise UP,” while the music video for “E-Lo” was inspired by the former South African president’s life.

“For hundreds of years, we have witnessed the power of music in bringing people together to drive activism and demand change,” said Hugh Evans, CEO of Global Citizen. “We are thrilled to release Global Citizen EP 1 with new songs from these incredible artists who stand with us in the fight to defeat extreme poverty, and we are extremely grateful to Dave Holmes, Parlophone Records, and Atlantic Records for their dedicated partnership and support as we demand to see an end to extreme poverty by 2030.”

The EP will be released in the US by Atlantic US and globally by Parlophone while proceeds from the project will support Global Citizen’s campaigning around gender equality, education, clean water, and more.

Coldplay’s Chris Martin paired up-and-coming artists with big stars for an admirable cause: Proceeds from this four-track EP benefit Global Citizen, a movement intended to wipe out extreme poverty by 2030. The record itself is an invigorating stroll around the global pop landscape with a deep nod to Africa.

Norwegian songwriters/producers Stargate layer Nelson Mandela’s powerful message of justice and equality over a dance beat (“Rise Up”). Los Unidades are a band whose signing to Parlophone was announced with a hazy image of four members and a series of letters and numbers that can be re-arranged into “COLDPLAY 2018”, which is probably quite instructive. They embrace South African rhythms (“E-Lo”) with Pharrell and Memphis rapper Jozzy, while “Voodoo” elicits widescreen Mylo Xyloto feels with super-producer David Guetta, Nigerian singer-songwriter Tiwa Savage and Venezuelan vocalist Danny Ocean.
